The sliding cork is explained piece by piece. A super simple and extremely effective way to fish over the rough bottom on the drift, casting or using the current to cover large areas of water. Great for live, cut, and/or butterflied baits or artificial lures like a DOA Shrimp on the Barefoot Jig. It is best used for casting to submerged oyster rocks, grass beds, or other structures. This sliding cork can also be used for fishing freshwater species like catfish, bluegill, crappie, and other panfish.
Simple, HEAVY DUTY popping cork for the Barefoot Jig, that cast like a bullet, never ever fouls, and makes the correct sound(s). Even better, the (balanced) Barefoot Jig head will keep the (DOA) shrimp, (Zoom) Superfluke or any other soft plastic sitting perfectly horizontal under the cork, or without a cork. This jig head gives the superfluke the same action as a gotcha plug but with a black nickel 4/0 single hook.
Catching and effortlessly releasing speckled trout on the jig with barbless hooks on the jig. Barbless hooks are the way to go for catch and release. DO NOT take the fish out of the water, DO NOT handle fish with a towel, and DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT use frigging treble hooks or J hooks with live shimp for speckled trout... unless you want to kill them.
