We genuinely love to fish the offshore waters for bottom fish and pelagics but like to catch fish wherever we are. That is the reason we've created freshwater Circle Hook Chin Weights that are "good on the fish, and good on the fisherman." Since we are releasing bass and most freshwater fish, we created the Barefoot Circle Hook Chin Weights that safely and securely hook fish for a healthy release.
We LOVE Sharing Our Knowledge
It's not just about the jigs and tackle. It's about giving anyone the ability to catch the larger (and wiser) fish and catch the higher quality of good fish. So we want to share our knowledge, through the videos, about how to make this tackle work best. For example, the Barefoot Jig fishes anything under a popping cork. Why I made the Barefoot Decoy Crab Jig
As a commercial fisherman, I've gutted thousands of grouper. The offshore crab was a common denominator of gags and reds - THEY LOVE THEM!
The other bait I frequently found in their stomachs was the grass grunt, aka tomtate. Together, these two baits look like a "happy meal" to the gags and reds.
Scamps don't like the grass grunt as much, but they all are idiots for the cigar minnow combo.
Live baits like jigged-up cigar minnows are candy for grouper, while squid and cut baits will fill the box with big black bass, triggerfish, and other bottom-hugging species.
